Here's the deal
Each month we accept donations into a fund which runs for a calendar month. The current total of the fund is displayed here as it grows.
February 2005 current total: £1.00 (February is still open for Sponsorship)
NB: The minimum donation is £1.00, there is no maximum.
To sponsor this months fund please contact us with your details, a website URL to refer visitors to and the price you are willing to pay (minumum £10.00) Your sponsorship cash will be added to this months fund and the fund will be prominently named and linked per your instructions. We will also accept images to use as an additional link and your link will also appear on our homepage.
At the end of each month the entire fund is divided as follows:
- 50% to the individual/company who donated the largest amount during the month.
- 25% to start the next months fund.
- 25% to cover the administration of this site, the fund itself and the payment fees associated with each incoming donation.
FAQ
Q: What happens if I want to donate more than once in a month?
A: All your donations within a single month will be added together to determine who donated the most.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: We believe that giving is not always rewarded sufficiently by the "good feeling" a giver gets and that if givers are rewarded directly they give more. This scheme attempts to prove this theory.
Q: If you prove your theory how will it be applied?
A: We anticipate being able to develop this scheme to a point where the historical data will provide an easily demonstratable donation engine that could be used to help fund registered charities.
Q: Is any of the cash going to charity?
A: Initially we are hoping that the 25% that goes towards the following months fund will encourage people to donate regularly, once popularity is rolling we will start to manipulate the percentages and donate the current 25% and potentially more directly to a registered charity. Probably as directed by each months winner or the sponsor, whichever has contributed the most.
